When and where to see

Although Greenshank can be seen in many months of the year they never occur in any great number. The best time to see them is late summer to early autumn.

They are most frequently seen feeding in the various channels in the south west corner where the River Findhorn flows into the Bay. They will also roost here. They can be hard to spot in the channels and can easily be disturbed. They will occasionally be seen feeding out on the Bay with other waders such as Redshank and even along the shore by the village.

Return to bird life.
